Qiyu "Nemo" Zhou is a Chinese-born Canadian chess player. In 2016 she qualified for the Woman Grandmaster (WGM). She regularly streams on Twitch, launching the channel "akaNemsko" in June 2020.
In 2021, she competed at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), making her live tournament debut in the WSOP $1,000 Ladies Championship.
"Playing competitive chess brings you literally zero financial anything,"Nemo told the PokerGO Tour. "So there is absolutely no way I could have a career through playing pure chess.
"I’m like currently going through my midlife or quarter-life crisis. I’m just so uncertain of what I want to kind of do."
A year later, she was embroiled in controversy after winning a $12,000 package to the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas. In the ensuing giveaway, the prize was "won" by her boyfriend, leading many to cry foul.
